Day 01 Winery Tours and Dune Buggy Adventure in Huacachina Peru
We will start the day with hotel pickup or from the Ica bus station. Our adventure will begin at 10:00 AM. as we explore the charming vineyards of Ica, known for producing Peru’s finest wines and Piscos. The region enjoys warm weather all year, making it ideal for grape cultivation.
We will first visit Hacienda Tacama, one of the oldest wineries in South America. Here, we will walk through its vineyards and learn about the winemaking process from grape to bottle. We will taste several varieties of wines and Piscos, discovering the flavors that represent Ica’s tradition. The beautiful colonial architecture and vast green fields will offer great photo opportunities.
Next, we will visit Cultur Pisco, a traditional distillery that keeps the artisanal process alive. We will learn about fermentation, distillation, and blending methods used to create their famous Piscos and wines. We will enjoy a tasting session, sampling their best selections and some products made from Pisco, such as creams and macerated drinks.
At 02:00 PM, we will take a break for lunch in Ica. We may enjoy regional dishes at Tacama Restaurant or Cultur Pisco’s restaurant, both offering delicious options like carapulcra, seco de res, or fresh seafood. Lunch will be optional, but highly recommended for those who want to taste local cuisine.
After lunch, we will travel to the famous Huacachina Oasis, one of the most iconic attractions in southern Peru. Towering dunes surround this natural lagoon, making it the only desert oasis in South America. We will feel the desert breeze and admire the breathtaking contrast between sand and water.
At 04:30 PM, the adventure will continue with our dune buggy ride in Ica Peru. We will climb into powerful dune buggies and speed across the desert landscape. The ride will offer both excitement and incredible views from the top of the dunes.
We will then practice Huacachina sandboarding, sliding down dunes that reach up to 100 meters. Our guide will teach us the safest and most fun techniques for beginners and experienced riders. The golden desert scenery will be perfect for photos, especially during sunset, when the sky turns orange and pink.
At 06:30 PM, we will return to the Huacachina Oasis, concluding our tour with unforgettable memories. We will transfer to your hotel or to the Ica bus station for your return trip.

The tour starts very early type 3-4 am, how good you can sleep on the way, we breakfast in a very good buffet and then depart for the mountain. Here the height is the problem, you can walk up but it requires a lot of condition, the good thing is that there are horses that you can pay and for 90 suns they leave you 15-20 minutes from the top. Wear layered clothes as you can warm up when climbing. We already walk down and the road is much easier. On horseback you go up in 40 minutes, you are on the mountain an hour to take pictures and the return is about 1 hour or so. In the end we still had lunch in the same very rich buffet!

What a beautiful place!!! Most of us went up there on mules. Important to clarify if the person weighs more than 110 kg he will not be able to carry it and will have to walk up . . . It is still very expensive, to have proper footwear
