Upon arrival in Cusco, we will transfer to the hotel to settle in and acclimatize. In the afternoon, we will begin the Cusco City Tour, visiting Qorikancha and the Cathedral (optional). We will continue to the Sacsayhuamán Fortress, admiring its massive stone walls and panoramic views of Cusco. Then, we will explore Qenqo, Pukapukara, and Tambomachay, ancient ceremonial centers dedicated to water. We will finish the day in the historic center before returning to the hotel.

Early in the morning, we will begin our journey through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will visit Chinchero, known as the “Rainbow Town,” famous for its artisanal market, colonial church, and Inca terraces. Then, we will head to Moray, where we will observe circular terraces used for agricultural experiments. We will continue to the impressive Maras Salt Mines, with over 3,000 pre-Inca salt pools. After a buffet lunch in Urubamba, we will explore Ollantaytambo Fortress before taking the train to Aguas Calientes for check-in and rest.

After breakfast, we will take the bus to Machu Picchu for a 2-hour guided visit. We will explore temples, ceremonial enclosures, and terraces while learning about Inca history. Then, we will enjoy free time in Aguas Calientes for lunch, hot springs, or shopping. In the afternoon, we will return by train to Ollantaytambo and continue by bus to Cusco, arriving around 22:00.

We will explore the South Valley, beginning at Tipón, an Inca hydraulic masterpiece. Next, we will visit Pikillaqta, a pre-Inca city of the Wari culture, featuring plazas and well-preserved structures. We will end at Andahuaylillas, known as the “Sistine Chapel of America,” admiring its murals and colonial art. Along the way, we will learn about Andean traditions and enjoy unique landscapes.

At 4:00 a.m., we will depart for Checacupe, where we will admire its three historic bridges. We will walk for about 45 minutes to the Palccoyo viewpoint, enjoying breathtaking views of glaciers, valleys, and multicolored mountains. We will learn about geology and Andean culture while taking photos and panoramic shots. After lunch in Cusipata, we will return to Cusco. This trail offers a less crowded, more peaceful alternative to Vinicunca.

We will visit the community of Taucca (Chinchero) and participate in cultural activities such as Andean music, traditional weaving, and interactions with alpacas and llamas. We will enjoy an Andean picnic prepared by the community with local ingredients and traditional recipes. At the end of the day, we will return to Cusco, concluding a full journey of history, nature, and living culture in the Andes.

Muy linda experiencia! El traslado y el guía estuvieron muy bien. Es una caminata exigente pero muy bonita. Estaría bueno tener una media hora más para recuperarse y subir hasta la cima donde salen mejores fotos. Al menos con mi estado físico no me dio el aire para hacer todo tan rápido!

El guía fue excelente. Tenía muchos conocimientos y fue considerado con nuestras limitaciones. Viajábamos con nuestra madre, que tiene más de 75 años, y él fue muy amable. Le recomendaría, el guía turístico fue el mejor elemento de la experiencia.
