Itinerary

Day 01 Día 1: Cusco – KM 104 – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Highlighted places: Chachabamba, Wiñayhuayna, Inti Punku, Machu Picchu, Aguas Calientes.

Your adventure begins at 3:00 AM, with hotel pick-up in Cusco. You’ll travel by tourist transport to Ollantaytambo, where you’ll board the train to KM 104, the official starting point of the hike. Your guide will provide a biodegradable box lunch and a briefing before starting the trail.

Around 7:30 AM, you’ll begin the hike, visiting Chachabamba, a religious and administrative Inca site dedicated to water. You’ll walk along scenic trails surrounded by lush vegetation, mountains, and small streams, passing agricultural terraces and stone stairways until reaching Wiñayhuayna.

After about three hours of hiking, you’ll arrive at Wiñayhuayna, a remarkable archaeological complex of houses and terraces believed to have served as a residence for Inca priests. You’ll explore its layout, learn about its ceremonial significance, and enjoy an energizing lunch with spectacular mountain views around 12:30 PM.
