Day 01 Cusco – Ollantaytambo – KM 104 – Wiñay Wayna – Inti Punku – Aguas Calientes

Your adventure begins early with a 4:00 AM departure from Cusco to Ollantaytambo. From here, we’ll take the train to KM 104 (2,100 meters), the starting point of the Short Inca Trail.

Our first stop is Chachabamba (2,250 meters above sea level), an ancient Inca site surrounded by lush greenery and agricultural terraces. After exploring its ruins, we’ll begin our trek uphill toward Wiñay Wayna, one of the most stunning archaeological sites along the Inca Trail.

Admire its terraces, temples, and breathtaking views before continuing to Inti Punku (the Sun Gate) — your first magical glimpse of Machu Picchu. As the sun sets, the lost city reveals itself in all its glory.

We’ll then descend by bus to Aguas Calientes (2,040 meters) for dinner and a comfortable night in our hotel.

Day 02 Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo – Cusco

We’ll start early to catch the first bus to Machu Picchu (2,430 meters) and witness the sunrise over the ancient citadel — a truly spiritual moment.

Enjoy a 2-hour guided tour through the most important sectors, including the Main Square, Temple of the Sun, Intihuatana Stone, and sacred enclosures that reveal the advanced engineering and spirituality of the Inca civilization.

After the tour, you’ll have free time to explore, take stunning photos, or optionally hike Huayna Picchu (extra ticket required). Later, we’ll return to Aguas Calientes for lunch, board the train back to Ollantaytambo, and continue to Cusco, arriving around 8:00 PM.

Muy linda experiencia! El traslado y el guía estuvieron muy bien. Es una caminata exigente pero muy bonita. Estaría bueno tener una media hora más para recuperarse y subir hasta la cima donde salen mejores fotos. Al menos con mi estado físico no me dio el aire para hacer todo tan rápido!
