On the Huchuy Qosqo – Machu Picchu Tour Peru 3D/2N, we will live an unforgettable adventure in the Andes. We will hike along high trails surrounded by mountains rising over 3,600 meters above sea level. We will feel the purity of the Andean air and admire landscapes with crystal-clear lagoons and deep valleys. This will mark the beginning of a unique cultural and natural experience.

During the journey, we will explore the archaeological complex of Huchuy Qosqo, known as the “Little Cusco.” We will see terraces, temples, and Inca buildings that reveal the secrets of this ancient civilization. We will walk approximately 17 kilometers while learning about the living history of the Andes. We will share moments with local communities and discover their traditional way of life.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, we will rest surrounded by the energy of the high jungle. We will hear the Urubamba River flowing between the mountains and enjoy the tranquility before the great day. The combination of nature, culture, and rest will renew our energy for the final visit.

On the third day, we will visit the world wonder: Machu Picchu. We will climb to 2,430 meters above sea level to admire its sacred architecture. We will explore temples, plazas, and terraces guided by local experts. This 3-day and 2-night tour will allow us to connect with the essence of Peru in an authentic and sustainable way.

Itinerary

Day 01 Cusco – Tambomachay – Huchuy Qosqo

We will start the day with a transfer from Cusco to Tambomachay at 07:30 AM. From this point, we will begin our Andean hike. We will ascend along Inca trails surrounded by mountains and breathe the pure high-altitude air. 

 

During the trek, we will admire the Qoricocha and Yanacocha lagoons sparkling under the Andean sun. We will observe wild birds and cross ancient paths of the Qhapaq Ñan. We will reach 4,100 meters above sea level, the highest point of the day.

 

We will then descend to the camp near the Huchuy Qosqo archaeological site. There, we will enjoy a hot dinner and rest under a starry sky.

Day 02 Huchuy Qosqo – Lamay – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes

We will wake up with an Andean breakfast and start a guided tour of Huchuy Qosqo. We will explore its terraces, temples, and Inca channels. We will learn about the site’s significance, often called the “Little Cusco.”

After the visit, we will descend on foot through fertile valleys toward Lamay. There, our private transport will take us to Ollantaytambo. We will have time for lunch and a brief walk through this charming Inca town.

 

In the afternoon, we will board the scenic train to Aguas Calientes. We will arrive surrounded by mountains and jungle rivers and spend the night at a local lodge.

Day 03 Machu Picchu – Cusco

After breakfast, we will take the bus up to the Machu Picchu citadel at 07:30 AM. We will walk among sacred terraces, temples, and plazas during a two-hour guided tour.

From the viewpoints, we will admire the grandeur of the mountains surrounding the sanctuary. We will feel the unique energy of this site, considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

 

After the tour, we will have free time in Aguas Calientes to have lunch or explore the town. In the afternoon, we will take the train to Ollantaytambo and then private transport back to Cusco, arriving around 10:00 PM.
