Itinerary

Day 01 Day tour itinerary

Hotel Pickup and Meeting Point: We will pick you up at your hotel in the historic center of Cusco or meet at Plaza de Armas at the selected time. Our guide will introduce the city and explain its Inca and colonial history.

Qoricancha – Temple of the Sun: Our city tour Cusco begins at Qoricancha, the Sun Temple. We will explore its stone walls and learn about its astronomical and ceremonial importance. We will see how the Spanish built Santo Domingo on top, blending colonial architecture with Inca foundations.

Sacsayhuamán: Next, we will visit Sacsayhuamán, a massive Inca fortress. We will walk along its terraces and admire panoramic views of Cusco. The guide will explain its military, ceremonial, and cultural significance.

Qenqo: We will continue to Qenqo, an archaeological site with ceremonial and astronomical functions. We will observe carved altars, labyrinthine passages, and ceremonial structures. The guide will explain Inca rituals and water ceremonies.

Puca Pucará: Our tour will continue to Puca Pucará, an ancient military fortress. We will explore plazas, towers, baths, aqueducts, and walls. Our guide will describe its strategic role in defending the Cusco valley.

Tambomachay: Next, we will visit Tambomachay, famous for stone aqueducts and fountains. We will learn about its probable ceremonial use for water worship and Inca hydraulic engineering.

Astronomical Experience – Hacienda Llaullipata: At 5:30 PM, we will arrive at Hacienda Llaullipata for a unique night tour. We will attend a one-hour lecture about Inca astronomy and the significance of stars. We will observe the sky through telescopes and enter a dome for cultural explanations.

Return to Cusco: Around 10:30 PM, we will return to the historic center of Cusco. Our guide will answer all questions and provide recommendations for further exploration. This concludes the Cusco city tour – night tour.

Muy linda experiencia! El traslado y el guía estuvieron muy bien. Es una caminata exigente pero muy bonita. Estaría bueno tener una media hora más para recuperarse y subir hasta la cima donde salen mejores fotos. Al menos con mi estado físico no me dio el aire para hacer todo tan rápido!
