Enjoy a panoramic tour of the “White City,” discovering its main historical and natural attractions. We begin at the Plaza de Armas, surrounded by elegant colonial buildings, and continue to the traditional neighborhoods of Yanahuara and Carmen Alto, where you can enjoy a privileged view of the Arequipa countryside and the Misti Volcano. We will also visit the Incalpaca mini zoo to observe South American camelids and finish at the picturesque Sabandía Mill, a 17th-century architectural gem surrounded by nature.

Itinerary

Day 01 Plaza de Armas – Yanahuara – Carmen Alto – Incalpaca Mini Zoo – Sabandía Mill

We will pick you up from your hotels in Arequipa according to the selected schedule:

Morning departure: 9:00 a.m.
Afternoon departure: 2:00 p.m.

From there, we will head to the Plaza de Armas, the historic heart of the “White City.” We will board our panoramic bus to begin a tour of the historic center, enjoying unique views of colonial streets and traditional sillar stone architecture. During the journey, we will make short stops to get off the bus and explore each site.

Our first stop will be the district of Yanahuara, where from its viewpoint we will admire the traditional arched portal and the neighborhood church. From here, we will contemplate the majestic Misti Volcano (5,822 m / 19,101 ft above sea level). The viewpoint offers excellent photo opportunities and a chance to appreciate the harmony between the city and nature, while learning about local history.

Next, we will head to the Carmen Alto Viewpoint, a strategic spot to observe pre-Hispanic agricultural terraces and local vegetation. From this location, you can see Arequipa’s three great volcanoes.
This site combines natural and archaeological landscapes in a single panoramic view.

Our next visit will be the Incalpaca Mini Zoo, where we will learn about the four South American camelids: llama, alpaca, vicuña, and guanaco. We will learn about their diet, habitat, and cultural importance. It is an ideal place for family and educational photographs.

We will conclude the City Tour at the Sabandía Mill, located 20 kilometers from the center of Arequipa. Here, we will observe the waterfall that powers the stones of the old mill, as well as a collection of cacti, flowers, and native plants. We will walk through the gardens, admire its traditional architecture, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. At the end of the visit, we will return to downtown Arequipa, concluding a tour full of history, culture, and nature.

Muy linda experiencia! El traslado y el guía estuvieron muy bien. Es una caminata exigente pero muy bonita. Estaría bueno tener una media hora más para recuperarse y subir hasta la cima donde salen mejores fotos. Al menos con mi estado físico no me dio el aire para hacer todo tan rápido!
