Itinerary

Day 01 Cusco – Cachora – Capuliyoc – Chiquisca

The day begins very early with pickup from your hotel in Cusco and transfer to the trailhead, arriving in the town of Cachora after a few hours of travel. In Capuliyoc, you will enjoy your first lunch with impressive views of the valley and the snow-capped peak that dominates the horizon. The hike then begins with a steep descent into the Apurímac Canyon, a section that is physically demanding and visually spectacular.

Upon arriving in Chiquisca, already in the valley, you will set up camp, share a hot dinner with the trekking team, and have time to rest. The contrast between the cold start of the morning and the warm valley is striking, and the natural surroundings will have already amazed you: rivers, birds, varied vegetation, and the feeling of truly entering an authentic adventure.

Day 02 Chiquisca – Playa Rosalina – Marampata – Choquequirao

The day begins with a descent toward Playa Rosalina, crossing the Apurímac River, followed by a steep ascent along a narrow trail to Marampata. This stretch represents one of the most demanding moments of the trek, but also one of the most rewarding in terms of scenery and personal challenge.

In the afternoon, you finally reach the area of the Choquequirao archaeological complex, where you will have time to explore the Inca structures: terraces, temples, plazas, and lesser-explored sectors. You will see how nature and history have intertwined over the centuries. At sunset, you will feel the magnitude of the site—the silence and grandeur of an ancient culture spending the night camping nearby.

Day 03 Choquequirao – Exploration – Marampata or Chiquisca

This day will be dedicated to an in-depth exploration of the Choquequirao citadel. From sunrise, you will walk among its ruins, discover architectural details, understand the importance of its strategic location, and enjoy unique views of the valley and the canyon.

After taking time to enjoy the site and capture photographs, you will begin the descent back to your return campsite (Marampata or once again Chiquisca). This downhill route allows you to appreciate the landscape from a different perspective and reflect on the effort achieved and the wonder you have visited.

Day 04 Camp – Capuliyoc – Cachora – Return to Cusco

On the last day dawn brings with it the final descent towards Capuliyoc. You walk between mountains, valleys, crossing landscapes that you already knew on the way, but with the satisfaction of returning. Then private transportation will take you back to Cusco, arriving at the hotel in the afternoon or evening.

Important note: Schedules are for reference only. One day before the tour, our operations team will contact you to reconfirm the schedules.
