Day 01 Ica – Ocucaje – Pampa de Piedras – Canyon of the Lost Peru – Return to Ica
06:45 AM – Departure from Ica
We will start early in the morning with hotel pickup in Ica or Huacachina. Our driver will take us toward southern Ica. On the way, we will make a short stop to buy drinks and snacks for the journey. This will prepare us for our adventure into the vast Peruvian desert.
07:00 AM – Road to Ocucaje
We will drive along the Panamericana Sur Highway before taking the route toward Ocucaje. The landscape will gradually change from farmland to open desert. We will enjoy the golden dunes and the wide horizon that stretches endlessly ahead. This scenic drive will let us appreciate the raw beauty of Ica’s desert region.
08:20 AM – Stop at Pampa de Piedras
We will stop at the Pampa de Piedras, a fascinating desert plateau filled with small rock piles called apachetas. These stone towers are built by travelers as symbols of gratitude and good fortune. Here, we will take time to walk, take photos, and breathe in the calm desert air. The silence and views will offer the perfect start to our adventure.
09:00 AM – Canyon of the Lost Peru Tour
We will reach the viewpoint of the Canyon of the Lost Peru, also known as the Lost Canyon Ica Peru. From this point, we will admire its immense crack in the earth, formed over millions of years by erosion. The deep walls protect wildlife, including scavenger birds that soar above the canyon.
We will begin our descent along a sandy trail surrounded by fossilized shells and salt deposits. The hike will lead us to the eyes of water — small natural pools hidden inside the canyon. We will take time to explore, take photos, and enjoy this surreal landscape that reveals nature’s history layer by layer.
This hike will be unforgettable, combining adventure and calm in one of Peru’s hidden desert treasures.
11:30 AM – Return to Ica
After exploring the Lost Canyon Peru, we will begin our journey back to the city of Ica. During the return, we may stop at a local restaurant for lunch (not included). The drive will offer beautiful desert views once again.
03:30 PM – Arrival in Ica
We will arrive back in Ica and drop you off at your hotel or the bus terminal. This will end our incredible experience at The Lost Canyon Peru, a perfect mix of nature, geology, and adventure.

The tour starts very early type 3-4 am, how good you can sleep on the way, we breakfast in a very good buffet and then depart for the mountain. Here the height is the problem, you can walk up but it requires a lot of condition, the good thing is that there are horses that you can pay and for 90 suns they leave you 15-20 minutes from the top. Wear layered clothes as you can warm up when climbing. We already walk down and the road is much easier. On horseback you go up in 40 minutes, you are on the mountain an hour to take pictures and the return is about 1 hour or so. In the end we still had lunch in the same very rich buffet!

I liked the Service and attention I received, plus the quality of the guide who touched us to know the sacred valley on the way to Machu Picchu was first class, with extensive knowledge of the Inca culture and with very good explanation, I highly recommend them.

What a beautiful place!!! Most of us went up there on mules. Important to clarify if the person weighs more than 110 kg he will not be able to carry it and will have to walk up . . . It is still very expensive, to have proper footwear
