Inti Raymi 2025: 5 days 4 nights

At the indicated time of your flight, we will coordinate the transfer from the airport to your hotel in Cusco, a short trip that will allow us to give you a warm welcome. This will take you directly to your accommodation in the historic center. It is important that you take advantage of this day to rest or, if you prefer, take a light tour such as the City Tour, ideal for acclimatization (Consult your sales consultant for more details on how to add this tour to your itinerary).

Itinerary:

07:00 – 07:30 hrs: Pick-up from hotel in Cusco.

Taray viewpoint: First stop at this strategic point, where you will enjoy a spectacular view of the Sacred Valley and its Andean landscapes.

Pisaq Archaeological Center: We will visit this impressive complex on a hillside above the town, home to South America’s largest and oldest Inca cemetery.

12:00 hrs approx: Buffet lunch in Urubamba.

13:30 hrs approx: We will arrive at Ollantaytambo, where we will explore its archaeological site and the megalithic constructions that stand out for their perfection and mystery.

After a pleasant visit to Ollantaytambo, we will take the train to Machu Picchu town, a journey of 1 hour and 45 minutes, the train schedule depends on the availability and preference of the traveler.

Once in Aguas Calientes, we will have the communication from your guide, who will give us all the necessary information for a good walk to Machu Picchu.

Itinerary:

The adventure to the wonder of Machu Picchu early from the meeting with our guide, who will be waiting and coordinating to start with the line to the city of Machu Picchu, in addition to providing the necessary instructions for the tour.

Bus to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, get ready to board the bus that will take us to the sanctuary of Machu Picchu in a journey of approximately 35 minutes.

Exploration of Machu Picchu Depending on the reserved entrance time to the sanctuary, you will take the circuit 2 tour (subject to availability), exploring the impressive temples, terraces, and sacred spaces of this emblematic archaeological site in the company of a specialized guide.

This guided tour lasts approximately 2 hours, ideal time to capture memorable photos and immerse yourself in the history of the site.

Free time in Aguas Calientes
Upon returning to Aguas Calientes, you will have time for additional activities such as lunch, relaxing in the thermal-medicinal baths, or visiting the Stone Chronicles circuit.

According to the train schedule previously agreed: 14.30 or 19.00 hrs, we will leave the town of Aguas Calientes, heading to the city of Cusco, making a brief stop in Ollantaytambo, to take the bus to the city of Cusco.

Finally, according to the train schedule previously taken, you will be driven to your hotel in Cusco.

The ritual ceremony of Inti Raymi is celebrated in three main scenarios: Qorikancha (09:00 h), Plaza de Armas (10:00 h) and the Esplanade of the Archaeological Park of Saqsaywaman (13:45 h). This festival, central to the Inca civilization, is related to the connection between human beings and the natural and cosmic elements, such as the Sun, the Moon and Mother Earth (Pachamama).

The Inti Raymi, dedicated to the Sun, was the most important celebration of the Inca Empire, held during the winter solstice in Cusco. This celebration symbolized the passage from the old agricultural year to the new, asking for the return of the Sun to ensure the harvest and avoid rains. It is considered one of the most relevant celebrations in the world, and was declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation and an official ceremony of national identity by the Peruvian State.

09:00 a.m. – Qorikancha: The ceremony begins with the greeting to the Sun, where the Inka and the royalty invoke good omens. And then we will be transported to the esplanade of Saqsayhuman.

12:00 pm. — We will have a brief time to have our box lunch, while we wait for the second stage of the sun festival, which will be held on the esplanade of Saqsayhuaman.

13:45 pm. – Saqsayhuaman: the central ceremony begins with the participation of representatives of the four Suyos. The region chiefs present offerings and perform rituals such as the rite of the chicha, the sacred fire, the simulated sacrifice of a flame, and the rite of the sacred bread. The ceremony culminates with great euphoria and popular rejoicing.

FAREWELL DAY, After an adventure with the best to know in Cusco, our transfer driver will pick you up from your hotel according to your flight schedule, heading to the Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport in Cusco.
